Rainy Chun Chawan

This chawan (tea bowl) is perfect for enjoying your favorite tea, especially matcha. 

If you aren't a matcha drinker, this chawan works well as a small bowl, for servings of fruit, side dishes, and appetizers. 

Chun is a traditional Chinese glaze that gets its blue color from a phase-shifted crystalline reaction in the kiln that makes opalescence. The blue to green color varies with the conditions of the reaction. This chawan is a beautiful misty blue with wavering lines of darker gray blue. It has an atmospheric feel; a portion of the interior upper has been left unglazed and gives the feeling of a horizon, pooling into a blue crystalline pattern at the bottom.
